Hack your T-shirts and get hands on with DIY alterations! Our instructor will provide an overview of basic modifications like crop waists, neckline adjustments, letting out, and taking in the seams. Then you’ll pic your mods and get to work. You can choose from the mods covered in this class or research your own. This is a great class for ambitious beginners with light sewing experience or who have taken our Sewing 101 or Learn to Sew class.

What to Bring: Students should bring at least two options of t-shirts they would like to modify.

In this class, we will cover: 

• An overview of basic mods

  • Lowering necklines with serged edge
  • Changing neckline to v-neck with existing collar
  • Adding panels to let out the seams
  • Taking-in the seams
• Basic review of how to use Janome sewing machines and Juki Sergers
