Martin, a recent transplant to the Bay Area, found Ace in the winter of ‘21 after having good experiences in the Chicago makerspace Pumping Station One and several other spaces. Martin comes by his skills in a true “maker” way.

He started woodworking in the basement of his rental house in grad school. Since then he has been a member of three makerspaces. The 24/7 access and organized space at Ace work well for Martin. Shortly after joining Martin stepped up to join the workshop team as a volunteer instructor specializing in woodworking and woodworking safety training. What he likes best about teaching is enthusiastic students and supporting the thriving community. Fun fact about Martin, he is originally from Cape Town, South Africa.
