In this 3-hour overview of the Metal shop, participants will learn the safe handling of various tools and materials in the shop including:
- horizontal + vertical bandsaws (including certification)
- drill press (including certification)
- various smaller bench-top and hand-held tools like shears, pop riveters
- grinders, and more.
Differences in material hardness will also be covered, such as copper and aluminum vs mild steel vs stainless steel. Time allowing we may also go over various meta concepts that will be discussed such as Metric vs Imperial vs SAE and handling tolerances.

What to wear:
Closed-toe shoes, short sleeves, work clothes, jewelry. Long hair must be tied back.
Safety Gear:
Eye protection, ear protection, and all the hand sanitizer will be provided. If you have special needs bring your own.
This class requires a minimum of 2 students per session. Refunds, Transfers, or Credits are only offered if the class is canceled.
